“What I enjoy most about working in aged care is the diversity. The balance between spending quality time with residents and having a chat about their day, and being fast paced and agile to ensure I identify and address medical issues before they escalate.”
After qualifying as a General Practitioner in 2004 and then moving to Australia in 2005, Dr Cavill began working in Emergency Medicine in Melbourne before spending four years in the Northern Territory at the Royal Flying Doctors. After further training in anaesthetics in rural Victoria he now work in both anaesthetics and aged care. He feels very thankful that he’s able to work in the two areas he is most passionate about, and joining the team at Aged Care GP has enabled Dr Cavill to incorporate key elements that he believes are critical in the delivery of great medical care - continuity of care, multidisciplinary care, and regular communication with patients, families and carers.
Dr Cavill’s main areas of interest are skin surgery, internal medicine and emergency medicine.
In his spare time Dr Cavill enjoys being active and spending time outdoors camping, cycling and playing golf.
